It's Ok To Eat Carbs

Science Says It's Ok To Eat Carbs!

Twenty years ago, we really didn't know. Research did show that avoiding carbs did cause weight loss, and that your health improved with that weight loss.

What we didn't know at the time was that overall health markers improved from the weight loss alone. Not because people avoided carbs. We now know this.

A study published by Kevin Hall in 2017 called "Obesity Energetics: Body Weight Regulation and the Effects of Diet Composition" showed that you could lose weight on any combination of macronutrients, as long as you were in a calorie deficit.

Stated differently, you could eat any combination of macronutrients you want (high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat, high protein, low protein) and lose weight, as long as you were in a calorie deficit.

A 2018 study by Christopher Gardner and colleagues called "Effect of Low-Fat vs Low-Carbohydrate Diet on 12-Month Weight Loss in Overweight Adults and the Association With Genotype Pattern or Insulin Secretion: The DIETFITS Randomized Clinical Trial" showed that there was no difference in weight loss on a high glycemic index diet (processed carbs) and a low glycemic index diet (whole foods) when calories were equated.

A study by Chad Kerksick in 2010 called "Changes in weight loss, body composition and cardiovascular disease risk after altering macronutrient distributions during a regular exercise program in obese women" showed that regardless of which macronutrients were emphasized, the weight loss alone was responsible for the improvement in cardiovascular risk factors. If you are losing weight, you are getting healthier no matter what you are eating!

There are plenty more studies on these topics and I would love to share all of them with you.

I'm Dr. Alo and I have been teaching, researching, and lecturing on weight loss for nearly 20 years. I have taught thousands of doctors how to teach their patients to lose weight properly while avoiding common pitfalls and without unnecessarily avoiding foods they love.

I have taught hundreds, if not thousands, of people how to lose weight with simple strategies that can be followed long term.

I'm a Board Certified Cardiologist and Certified Personal Trainer! I know what it takes to get healthy and fit without following dangerous plans.

You don't have to:

❌ Avoid Carbs
❌ Workout 5 days/week
❌ Eat tons of fat
❌ Eat only from 1-4pm
❌ Avoid foods you love
❌ Run 20 miles per week

You can eat all the carbs you want, workout one day per week, avoid inhaling fat, eat at whatever time of day you want, and you don't have to do any cardio!

My new book reveals all of the science and research behind weight loss without all the gimmicks and fads!

I go through every research study on weight loss, diet, and exercise and distill them down to simple useable nuggets and give you my science based approach to weight loss, health, and fitness!
